A message from The Maddest Hatter

Hi.. Tess Smith here, also known as The Maddest Hatter.

About 20 years ago my daughter Annie, a surgical tech, asked me to make her some hats. I was at home caring for my husband as he was waiting for a liver transplant so I gave it a try. Well, that turned into a thriving little business that I enjoyed for many years.

I have met so many wonderful people along the way at trunk shows at hospitals, on Etsy, in fabric shops and beyond. My home-based sewers have been nothing less than amazing. Now it is time to say "Good bye". My daughter Annie will be "The Hatter" now. The business model will change a bit as it will now be a website but she will still carry comfortable, colorful hats that provide good coverage for working folks. You can expect the same good service I always provided.

Thank you all for your heart felt support over all these years.

PS.. My husband got that transplant and we are heading for 30 years of a blessed marriage.

Welcome to our new website!

I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to take over the hat business!

My mother worked hard to build this
business with continued hard work and amazing customer service.

I intend on doing the same. We will continue to provide the same in home stichers, though we've welcomed a few more as we are growing.

The new website looks different, but the hats remain exactly the same and I will be filling orders from my home.

We are still the same small business, even as we've grown providing comfortable, stylish surgical
caps to hard working folks which makes us so very happy!
